!SOURCE:The only refrence made to this child is in the 1900 census, his mother Eva is listed as having had 2 children with one living as of the 1900 census. Her other child was born in 1898 and at that time she and husband Marion Nance had been married 6 years therefore it is assumed that the child was born before Claude Nance their only other child.

This man was a 'medical doctor by trade'. He was not a college graduate, but he was known as a doctor. He delivered babies, treated the sick, etc. I will always wonder about his training and education. Although Dad told us his grandfather did not attend college, one must wonder if he did not study under another doctor for some specified time. Such was the case for his brother-in-law, Malcomb McAllister. Malcomb studied under a Dr. Brown, who happened to be a brother of Henry Brown, who later married Sarah Penelope McAllister, a sister-in-law to Thomas.

On 1860 census, he was listed as physician in Haralson County; on 1870 census, he was listed as farmer in Carroll County.
Carroll, Dr. Thomas Marion (I2443)

Uncle Irwin was in World War I and served overseas in a combat zone. It was there that he was subjected to poison gas. Dad said that Irwin was never the same after he returned from the war.
